Stella completed her undergraduate dental studies at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, with distinctions throughout the course. This was followed by her Master of Medical Science in Restorative Dentistry (subspecialty Periodontology) at the University of Sheffield, UK, where her thesis was on periodontal (gum) response to porcelain veneers. She then worked and trained in a combination of University and National Health Service positions at General and Dental Hospitals throughout the UK in the fields of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry (Periodontology, Fixed & Removable Prosthodontics and Endodontics).
She became a Fellow and Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and entered the General Dental Council specialist lists in Periodontics and Prosthodontics in 2000. She completed her formal training in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital & Institute in London as a Specialist Registrar/ Honorary Lecturer (2000-06), and entered the Restorative and Endodontics specialist lists in 2006.
She received the George Cross Fellowship Award through the British Society of Periodontology for her elective study on “Implant therapy in compromised sites” at the University of Southern California and University of California in Los Angeles, USA (2006). She completed successfully the one-year ITI research scholarship programme, awarded through the International Team for Implantology (based in Switzerland), at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA (2006-07), where she investigated the dimensions of soft and hard tissues in relation to the presence of papillae between implants in the aesthetic zone and patient satisfaction.
She published a number of scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, and presented her work in the UK and internationally. She also holds the Dental Diploma in Homoeopathy. She is a member of the British Society of Periodontology, British Dental Association, and American Academy of Osseointegration.
Stella joined Crescent Lodge Dental Practice as a Specialist Periodontist in 2008. She won the “Highly commended” award in the category Best Periodontic Practice at the Private Dentistry Awards 2012.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling, cooking and cake decorating, swimming, dancing.
