MARIE MYLENE GUERRIER

Implant nurse and Implant Coordinator

I have been working as a dental nurse since 2001 and after qualifying in 2004 with CNQAOS (Centre National Qualification of Assistant in Odonto-stomatology) in France.

I started 2001 in a private clinic with Dr Jean-Claude Kiepferle, who still operates as a maxilla-facial surgeon 75008 Paris and who made me fall in love with oral surgery.

2002 I moved to a private practice assisting a world-renowned female implantologist Dr Anne Benhamou. We worked together for fourteen years. I was her head implant nurse working exclusively for her (75006 Paris Rue de Rennes) from where we moved to new premises in “Rue Suger “and opened the “Institut Europeen du Visage”, in the heart of the “latin quarter”in Saint Germain des Pres.

Dr Benhamou and I worked together organising implant training for hundreds of dentists in becoming certified implant surgeons in collaboration with Dentsply Implant Sirona, Nobel BioCare, Straumann and Geistlich.

We used to travel around the world (St Barthelemy) and I would assist her in all fields of placing implants. We created the first dental implant conference for only female lecturers (S.N.I.F: Symposium National Implantology Feminine), which is now in its 15th year of existence.

I met Dr Andreas Jahnigen in 2011 when he started working in Paris in our clinic “Institute Europeen du Visage” and I was assisting him most times for his implant surgeries.

In 2015 I started working in London on weekends at the Camden Dental Implant Centre with Dr Andreas Jahnigen and Dr Martin Gilbert whilst continuing to work in Paris during the week (It has been said I am a workaholic, but I just love treating patients.) After 6 months working between London and Paris, in the summer of 2016, I decided to move to London permanently to work full time with Dr Jahnigen at Crescent Lodge Dental Practice, as he completely allocated himself to London and he asked me to follow him, and I have never looked back.

My role as an implant nurse and implant coordinator is to prepare all cases prior to implant surgery. I am the bridge between Dr Jahnigen and the patient, and I make sure the patient journey is as smooth as possible.

Dr Jahnigen and I discuss all cases together. I order accordingly the appropriate implants or bone reconstruction materials needed for each surgery. I prepare and set up each surgery, assisting to make sure the patient is well looked after throughout the process as well as being the first point of contact after surgery.

My initial plan was to be a physician. However, as soon as I completed my work experience in implant surgery, I realised the world of dentistry had chosen me.  Every patient I have had the privilege to assist during the last 21 years I treat just like they were a member of my family.  At Crescent Lodge Dental Practice, Dr Jahnigen and I feel at home and our goal is to ensure patients feel as cared for as possible through their implant treatment.

In my spare time I enjoy sports and am an ex-athlete. I love art and classical / jazz music, but creative writing and poetry is my guilty pleasure.
